I believe this word is rooted from the beginning of Islam. The Prophet Mohammed was brought upon us at a time when girls were being buried alive. I was brought up learning about religion and the 5 prophets and the 12 Imams. At the time when slavery was the norm, Balal was one of the first converts to Islam. He had a beautiful voice and so he was tasked to call people to the prayer that muslims perform 5 times a day. Why is it that nowadays those loud speakers disturb people's peace? Are those truly muslims or have they lost their way?
