We all need a helping hand!

My son has always preferred the company of strangers. As a stay at home mum with no help at hand, I was left to take care of everything from our finances to the next size clothes he wore. My husband was busy working 9-5 every day. Most weekends he would catch up with our only son. They used to play together. We had 2 Elmos and loads of gadgets. Everything had to make a sound or have a bell. I could never get him interested in reading or stacking up blocks of wood, it was all plastic and fake. In my aim to get him to line those shapes or recognise them, I often found interactive toys with lights and sounds. Why was he like this? Was it because I never bonded with him in those early months or was it that he was born like this?
